1st Annual "Crusade for Faith" Car Show

We held our 1st Annual "Crusade for Faith" Car Show at Horizons Church, in Lost Creek, West Virginia, on September 29th. To learn more about this event, please click here.

About The Crusade

Faith Ellen is a beautiful and bright 8 year old girl, who has a condition known as Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum and Hydrocephallus. Her loving parents, Lori Bailey and Tim Smith, have been devoted and tireless in their struggle to see that Faith is provided with the care that she requires. Unfortunately, this has been, for both parents, a long uphill battle against an entrenched bureaucracy determined not to help them.

I am Lori's husband, and have watched Lori and Tim fight this battle alone. No longer. We have begun the process of forming a non-profit corporation, filing papers with the state of West Virginia. The aim of this charity is to see that parents like Lori and Tim are empowered. Most parents are intimidated by the principals, school boards, county and state officials, and the long, difficult process they are forced to endure to see that their children are cared for and provided the proper education they need to succeed.

Why We Fight

The stated purpose of Crusade for Faith.org is to provide parents with the resources they need to fight for their rights, and those of their children. We intend to provide news, contact information, advocacy, and one day, fundraisers and legal defense funds for these loving parents; as well as funds which will assist parents to purchase equipment these children need, such as walkers, wheelchairs, special strollers, etc, that the insurance companies may not provide.

It is a sad statement on the affairs of West Virginia's educational system that these wonderful kids are being left behind, abandoned, by the schools. Lori and Tim have fought five long hard years to get a one on one aide for Faith, all to no avail. This is a grass roots campaign to see that precisely that happens. We will not rest, not tire, until this happens. And along the way, we hope to help those of you who are fighting the same battle.
